1. Acceptance

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website. If you use the site for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for it.

2. Website purpose

This site provides general information about Northstar’s independent database tooling consulting services and educational resources about team workflows involving HeidiSQL. It does not provide hosted software, downloads, accounts, subscriptions, payments, remote database access, or automated technical support.

3. Independent status and trademarks

Northstar Query Works LLC is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or the maintainer of the HeidiSQL project. HeidiSQL and other product, company, and database names may be trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify relevant products or technologies. Northstar does not host or redistribute HeidiSQL installers.

4. No professional or operational guarantee

Website content is general information, not a substitute for an engagement tailored to your systems, security requirements, legal obligations, recovery objectives, or change controls. Database and software operations can cause loss, corruption, downtime, or security exposure. Maintain verified backups, least-privilege access, testing, approvals, and recovery plans.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the site for lawful informational and business purposes. You may not interfere with site operation; probe or bypass security; introduce malicious code; scrape the site at a rate that disrupts service; misrepresent affiliation with Northstar; use content to facilitate unauthorized access; or violate another person’s rights or applicable law.

6. Inquiries and proposals

Contacting Northstar does not create a client relationship, confidentiality duty beyond applicable law, or obligation to provide services. Do not send secrets or regulated data. Services begin only under a separate written agreement signed by authorized parties. Any proposal may state its own scope, assumptions, fees, schedule, security terms, and precedence.

7. Intellectual property

Northstar owns or licenses the website design, original text, graphics, photographs, and materials, excluding third-party marks and referenced open-source materials. You may view and print reasonable portions for internal evaluation. You may not republish, sell, remove notices from, or create a competing content library from site materials without written permission.

8. Third-party websites and software

The site may discuss or link to third-party projects, repositories, documentation, fonts, or services. Northstar does not control their availability, content, security, licensing, or privacy practices. Use third-party software and websites under their own terms and verify current information with their official sources.

9. Accuracy and changes

We aim to provide useful information but do not promise that every statement is complete, current, or error-free. Software versions, features, compatibility, and links change. Research dates are included where version-sensitive facts appear. We may change or discontinue site content without notice.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORTHSTAR AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM WEBSITE USE. OUR AGGREGATE WEBSITE-RELATED LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions may not apply.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Northstar harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the site, violation of these terms, or infringement of another party’s rights.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, the parties will attempt in good faith for 30 days to resolve it through written notice. Subject to applicable law, exclusive venue will lie in the state or federal courts serving Wake County, North Carolina.

15. General terms

These terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement about website use. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays effective. A failure to enforce is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; Northstar may assign them in connection with a reorganization or business transfer.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
